Hi sarah. Do you work for/with wp-drudge….or are you just a resourceful individual who has worked out how to program the widget?
(me just trying to be safe…how can I be sure that your widget is legit and won’t virus my site? sorry for the question. am just so inexperienced with all this stuff!)
Is there an actual person engaged at the support desk or a bot? Please respond in a meaningful way to your multiple, frustrated customers. Or as someone has said previously, make a video, provide the patch…DO SOMETHING! (Please and Thank you)
(1) they need admin details so they can go into your website in the same way that you do so they can fix the problem – so you need to set up a wordpress username and password for them.
(2) ‘FTP’ is a method of transferring files to your site to fix the problem.
For both (1) and (2) contact your own host (be it hostgator, godaddy, bluehost etc) by online chat or phone and they should be able to walk you through. once you have the username, password and ftp details send them to wpdrudge/propersupport via their contact us page. last time i tried to email them directly at their email address it bounced back undeliverable…so use the contact us page on this forum instead https://theproperweb.com/contact/
can you please post on your support pages EASY, SIMPLIFIED step-by-step instructions on how users can fix this problem themselves or a VIDEO.
Because even when you as the support team have gone into each users website to fix this ‘deprecated’ problem…a future update to wordpress could break the changes you have made…so we need to know how to fix the problem ourselves
